Grand Prix Masters and the World Sportscar Masters series have both been given new names and become fully sanctioned FIA championships. The new FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship will start its season at Barcelona on April 12-14. With sporting and technical regulations relatively unchanged from previous years, the aim of this new joint initiative with the FIA is to try to place equal emphasis on both flat-bottom and ground-effect cars.
The popular World Sportscar Masters series will now be known as the FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship, and will mirror the previous series by using the existing regulations and race formats, but now with an FIA title at stake. The new championship will also kick off at Barcelona on April 12-14. The full calendar for both series is below.
