“My name is Casey; and I’m a recovering Triumph owner.” Or at least that’s how I’ve felt for a number of years. They say you can’t change where you come from, and I suppose that adage is as true in cars as it is in life.
My first “collector” car was a Triumph TR3 that needed a full restoration—I just didn’t know it at the time I bought it. I wasn’t looking for a TR3 in particular—I just knew I wanted a classic British sports car. Ironically, I liked the TR3 because it looked to my untrained eye like a car from the ’40s, even though it was built in 1959! Probably not the sales slant Triumph was looking for at the time.
