Trevers Walkett, one of four Walkett brothers that formed Ginetta Cars, passed away on January 5th at the age of 76.
Founded in 1960, Ginetta cars specialized in the production of “kit cars” for racing and later graduated to the production of road cars. In 1961, Ginetta created the G4, a multi-tubular spaceframe sports car with Ford mechanical components. The G4 saw much success in British sports car racing in the early ’60s at the hands of drivers like John Burton and Chris Meek. The G4 and its descendent the mid-engine G12 are still potent competitors in vintage racing the world over.
