The 2013 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival Press Day was staged 20th March on the grounds of Goodwood House in West Sussex, England. Lord March’s annual teaser of what’s to come saw more than 140 vehicles on display and roaring up the famed Goodwood hill.
This year marks the 20th annual Festival of Speed and the official theme will highlight the first 20 years of the celebration of motorsport and all things that go vroom.The Festival will see the most popular vehicles, drivers and riders of all time invited back to run up the 1.16-mile Goodwood hillclimb. Goodwood will also honor the 90th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 60 years of the World Sports Car Championship, the 50th anniversaries of the Porsche 911, McLaren, Lamborghini, Mini Cooper S, Ford Lotus Cortina and the European Touring Car Championship and the 40th birthday of the World Rally Championship.
Not to be outdone, the 2013 Goodwood Revival will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT40 with a race for significant and authentic racing GT40s, the first competition held exclusively for these iconic race cars. The 50th anniversary of the late Jim Clark’s first world championship will also be honored.

I personally really love this format for the photos. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that they are Tim Scott’s images.

Another vote for this format, but with a caveat. I do like looking through the vast array of pics that you all present in the other gallery format. Have to ask – can we have both??
The photograghy is always top shelf at the digest, but with the larger format they really pop! I like it.
Thank you so much for giving us the IDs of the cars. Some of them I remember from 50 or more years back, but some of the very old (and very new) ones are not at all familiar. This was a lush breakfast treat! Many thanks! Oh, the lucky folk who got to be there in person. But you have transported us there instantly, saving us the bother of going through endless airport security checks, not to mention the long trans-atlantic flight(s).
WOW! Love the ‘new’ format and the photography, especialy the action/pan shots. Bigger is better especially when it concerns these classics. Well done.
Hands down, I prefer the new format. The razor sharpness makes the photos come alive.
The new format is just incredible,as stated above the detail just pops out now.That means of course I will be spending more time with my morning coffee studying every pictures content. Thanks

In my opinion, it is always best to edit photos down to 5 to 1; i.e., 250 down to 50. Plus the large format has stronger impact. Perhaps showing page 5 first (as page 1 ) with the cars coming into Goodwood would have made more sense.
What a joy it is to receive this sensational “digest” each week! I can’t imagine the amount of logistical effort it takes to stitch all this together. Many, many thanks!!

I just love the wonderful, large format photos, but note two questionable captions: the “Porsche 911 GT1, winner at Le Mans 1998′ and “Ex-Denny Hulme McLaren M8D Can-Am” must be early models!
