The Richmond Trophy race at the 2013 Goodwood Revival was held Sunday, September 15th at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, England.
The Richmond Trophy race featured front-engined Grand Prix cars of a type that raced between 1952 and 1960. Notable entrants at this year’s race included the Maserati 250F and A6GCM, Ferrari 246 Dino and 500/625, Scarab-Offenhauser, Lancia D50, Aston Martin DBR4 and BRM Type 25 battling against the Connaught, Lotus 16, HWM, Cooper-Bristol, Alta and others.
After failing to finish last year’s Richmond Trophy, Gary Pearson got back to his winning form at the 2013 Goodwood Revival. The successful historic racer drove the ex-Jo Bonnier BRM P25 to a convincing win in the 17-lap race, finishing well ahead of Tony Wood’s Tecnica Meccanica Maserati 250F and the Climax-powered Lotus 16 of Roger Wills. Fourth place finisher Julian Bronson did achieve the fastest lap, with his Scarab-Offenhauser posting a strong time of 1:26.202 on lap nine. The top five was rounded out with the magnificent Maserati 250F V12 of Max Werner.

Amazing and gratifying to see the Scarab-Offenhauser running competitively after 43 years; i.e., 1960 at Monaco, Zandfoort, and Rheims for a disastrous short GP season. I was there and it was disheartening.
