The Historic IMSA Registry is a new group of enthusiasts dedicated to preserving and racing the cars campaigned in International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) during the ’70s and ’80s. From GTU cars such as Mazda RX7s to the successful Porsche 935 and later GTP cars, this era of racing produced a huge variety of cars and some of the greatest racing in North America.
The purpose of the IMSA Registry is to provide a place to race these great old cars, in addition to a forum where the stories, history and information can be shared with all those drivers, interested.
Special Historic IMSA–only races are being planned to run in association with vintage racing groups across the U.S. In addition, special events are being planed to reunite the drivers team owners, and crew members with their old cars.
Only cars with documented IMSA history are eligible to register. Owners of ex-IMSA cars can register on the group’s new Web site, www.imsa-registry.com or by contacting the office at 2685 Marine Way, No. 1220, Mountain View, CA 94043, (650) 903-4880.
