SPEEDtv.com has teamed with the American Le Mans Series and AmericanLemans.com to re-live great sports car racing action through bi-weekly online video presentations called, American Le Mans Memories. SPEEDtv.com will be opening the sports car racing archives to deliver a package of highlights, interviews and memories based on the original broadcasts.
American Le Mans fans have been the driving force behind the new Memories feature, said Marshall Pruett, SPEEDtv.com Sportscar Editor. Sportscar racing fans have a great interest in the history of the cars and the races being able to pull out the best GTP, GTO, GTU and American Le Mans races over the past few decades will give us the opportunity to revel in the cars and races of old that have inspired the current golden era we are enjoying.
The online series started with the 1989 IMSA Camel GTP/Camel Lights race from Sears Point (now Infineon) Raceway. Fans of the series will instantly recognize the participants, including the Nissans, Jaguars, Porsches, Toyotas, among others. Same can be said about the announcer, familiar Bob Varsha. Enjoy.
