Worldwide Auctioneers has announced that its inaugural Auburn Auction will include some of the most celebrated and important motorcars in existence. The Labor Day Weekend sale promises to be one of the most illustrious on the calendar, with consignments limited to an exclusive eighty significant vehicles.
The Auburn Auction will offer collectors the singular opportunity to bid for a supremely elegant, factory supercharged 1933 Duesenberg SJ Speedster, a 1911 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Roi-des-Belges Tourer, offered for sale without reserve, and an extraordinary 1953 Aston Martin DB2 Prototype. Further included in the list of released early consignments are three pristine Packards, one of which is a 1934 Packard Twelve 1107 Touring. It is one of only four known to exist. “It is quite pleasing that a selection of automobiles as exceptional as these has come onto the market. It is entirely fitting that they should do so in Auburn, the home of the classic car industry itself. The company will host the sale on the grounds of their new 140 acre auction site housing its new US headquarters. Held on August 30th over Labor Day Weekend, the auction coincides with the annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival, a celebration that has for decades attracted automotive enthusiasts from across the globe. Many of the greatest cars had exchanged hands here, over the years.
