The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival and Concours d’Elegance selected Jaguar as the Honored Marque for the 2014 Festival, scheduled for October 24 to November 2 in the low country of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia.
Both Motoring Festival venues will honor the contributions Jaguar has made to the automotive industry — Hutchinson Island’s the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort (Savannah Speed Classic) and Hilton Head Island’s Port Royal Golf Club (Concours d’Elegance, Motoring Midway and Car Club Jamboree).
“With a display of Jaguar racecars planned for this year’s Savannah Speed Classic and three classes of Jaguars to be displayed at this year’s Concours d’Elegance as well as Club participation at the Car Club Jamboree, we will have a truly unique and full-scale representation offering enthusiasts, owners and collectors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the heritage of the iconic British brand,” said Carolyn Vanagel, the Festival’s President.
Examples from private collections and award-winning Concours Champions will help tell the complete history of the Jaguar brand. From the E-Type to a class of saloons to cars that have been owned by notable names – part of this year’s Life of the Famous and Infamous exhibit – and dating as far back as 1929, attendees will get see a complete spectrum of the Jaguar story.
In addition to Jaguar, the 2014 Hilton Head Motoring Festival will also celebrate 100 years of Maserati and 50 years of American Muscle with the Ford Mustang and Pontiac GTO. The Concours d’Elegance, Sunday, November 2, will feature special classes on the Port Royal Golf Course to honor these milestones.
