With no less than 32 World Championship victories to his credit, Jochen Mass is one of the most successful sports car racers of all time. He was only beaten to the unofficial title of “The Most Successful” by his long time co-driver Jacky Ickx, who has 37 wins.
Born in Munich, Germany, in 1946, Jochen began his motor racing career by competing in sprints and hillclimbs at the wheel of his own Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint. He turned some of the heads that mattered, however, when he won the 1972 European Touring Car Championship in a Ford Capri RS2600.
