We continue our interview with John Grant, now Chairman of the British Racing Drivers Club. In Part One we learned how, from a relatively modest background and upbringing in Northern Ireland, Grant rose to the high echelons of command at Ford both in Europe and the USA and how he and his team masterminded the purchase of Jaguar in the late 1980s. Grant also told us of how he got involved in grassroots motor sport including rallying, sprints and auto tests while on a meager student budget during his university years. In this concluding piece, European Editor Mike Jiggle, finds out how John Grant’s racing genes were rekindled and how he became Chairman of the prestigious BRDC and what the future holds for Silverstone, Britain’s premier motor racing circuit.
