La Leggenda di Bassano “Trofeo Giannino Marzotto,” a regularity race reserved exclusively for Sport-Barchetta cars produced until 1960, will take place this weekend, June 22-25, starting and finishing at Bassano del Grappa in the cosmopolitan city of Vicenza in northeastern Italy.
All cars entered for the competition must have an Identity Card from the Fédération Internationale des Vèhicules Anciens, and/or the Certificato di Identità A.S.I. Cars not regularly road registered, or with just a temporary registration, will not be allowed into the race.
Competition-Sportscars of the Vintage, Post Vintage and Classic categories (built between 1920 and 1960) are eligible for the event, and competing cars will travel along the best roads of the Dolomites, making intermediate stops at Merano (Bolzano) and Cavalese (Trento). The event is on the FIVA International Calendar and in the National Calendar of Car Events of the Automotoclub Storico Italiano. Among the entrants will be VR’s own Peter Collins, who will share a 1959 Devin D-Porsche with Michael Archer
