To have a successful career as a racer and then parlay that into a successful career as a team owner is admirable. To have won several championships, qualified for the Indy 500 and the inaugural Long Beach Grand Prix, while giving numerous up and coming drivers their start, is impressive. But to have achieved all this over the course of a 50-plus year unbroken career while overcoming bigotry and racial discrimination is truly inspiring. Casey Annis recently caught up with the always upbeat Leonard Miller at his home in Pennsylvania.
How did you get started in motorsport? You had a somewhat non-traditional start, didn’t you?
