Skip Barber, owner of Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park racecourse, has recently announced a partnership with Steve Earle and General Racing, Ltd., to sanction and organize the 20th Annual Lime Rock Vintage Festival to be held Labor Day weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 2.
Initial indications are that the event will be run under the same rules and racecar acceptance criteria used by General Racing at events like the Monterey Historics and the Wine Country Classic.
According to Earle, “I am delighted to become a part of the Vintage Festival. The event has a long history built on the efforts of many individuals and organizations, not the least of which is the Vintage Sports Car Club of America (VSCCA). They were the pioneers of the sport in this country and had a major influence on the importance of preserving racing cars.”
