Mecum Auctions will stage Mecum Anaheim 2016 next weekend, November 17-19, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California, featuring some 750 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more.
Among the main attractions is a pair of 1968 Pontiac Firebirds featuring the rare Ram Air option. The first, a 1968 Pontiac Firebird Ram Air I (above, photo courtesy of Mecum Auctions), is one of only 92 automatics built that year, and the second, a 1968 Ram Air II, is one of 110 made. Other headliners include a 1957 Ford Thunderbird E-Code and a 1969 Shelby GT500 Fastback equipped with the 428 SCJ Drag Pack.
Among the other consignments are: a custom-built, California-classic 1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville with an LS3 V8 engine that underwent a complete frame-off restoration in 2011, and a 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Resto Mod with an LS1 engine and fewer than 1,500 miles driven since its rotisserie restoration. Among the “no reserve” consignments is a red 2006 Ford GT with a six-speed manual transmission and just 2,500 miles on its clock.
The auction is open to sellers, buyers and spectators, with doors opening each day at 8 a.m. and the auction beginning with Road Art at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, and at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, November 18-19. The cars will begin crossing the auction block at 1 p.m. on Thursday, and at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. For further information please visit www.Mecum.com
