The final Mecum auction in 2012 was held December 6-8 at the Kansas City Convention Center in Missouri, resulting in $11.4 million in total sales and a 65% sell-through rate.
The top result at the Mecum Kansas City 2012 auction went to the a purpose-built, factory drag car 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro that brought $140,000. The 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Twister Edition 428 CI Super Cobra Jet, one of the ‘Twister Specials’ built exclusively for the Ford Kansas City Sales District dealers, also brought in a $140,000 sale. In total, the year-end sale brought in $11,443,091 for the three-day event.
