Monterey’s Classic Car Week will add another dimension this year as the inaugural World Class Automotive Film and Arts Festival will celebrate the 24 Hours of Le Mans by screening the 1971 racing classic Le Mans, starring Steve McQueen, and other films from the period at The Golden State Theatre on Alvarado Street in downtown Monterey.
Festivalgoers can also enjoy a Tribute to John Fitch with acclaimed originals like A Gullwing at Twilight by Chris Szwedo, and The Quest by Michael Brown during three nights of film screenings on the big screen. In an appeal to other artistic senses, the festival will also include paintings, sculpture, written works and film shorts in the lobby of the theater.
