The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2014 was staged August 14-17 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Salinas, California. The ‘museum in motion’, held annually on the famed 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course, is a cornerstone of Monterey Classic Car Week.
This year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion represented the 41st consecutive year of vintage car racing on the Monterey Peninsula in August. Four days of Reunion action culminated with a weekend of racing for 550 historic cars in 15 race groups that spanned nearly every era of motorsports history.
Rolex Awards of Excellence were awarded in each race category, as well, but also in the spirit of the weekend they were not reserved for those with the fastest times. They went instead to individual drivers who were determined by an independent panel to be “most deserving.”
