Famed racing car designer Gordon Murray is working on a new project as his company, Gordon Murray Design, is collaborating with Cosworth and the historic British marque TVR on the firm’s next new offering, which has been under development for more than a year.
Detailed specifications will be released later this year, but the car continues in the tradition of classic British two-seat sports cars with a naturally aspirated, dry-sumped, V8 engine developed and engineered by Cosworth mounted in the front and driving the rear wheels through a manual transmission. Those mechanicals will be carried within a composite ground-effect aero chassis and body package using GMD’s innovative iStream technology.
“TVR is an iconic brand which has been an important part of British sports car manufacturing for many decades,” noted Murray. “Its return to manufacturing is an exciting development, and the car deserves the best chassis and powertrain that can possibly be delivered. To that end, I am delighted that our company is involved with the project.” For more information please visit www.tvr.co.uk
