Motor Racing Legends has announced a new race for pre-war sports cars, to be held on the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit on Saturday, September 10, 2005, in support of the Britcar 24 Hour Race.
This brand new event will take place immediately prior to the start of the 24 Hour Race and will be for a full grid of 42 cars. The race will run for a full 40 minutes and all cars will have two drivers. Practice will be on Friday, with a huge party and band at the circuit on Friday night. The entry fee for competitors should be around £250. However, Motor Racing Legends will pay “start money” to each entry of the order of £150.
The race will be run under an MSA National B permit, so all grades of race license will be valid for this meeting. The emphasis will be on the spectacle, so applications from selected “specials” may also be considered.
“This is an extremely rare opportunity for pre-war sports cars to support a major modern race meeting,” said Duncan Wiltshire, Chairman of Motor Racing Legends. Competitors should apply directly to Motor Racing Legends, Woodbine Farm, Thorndon, Eye, Suffolk, IP23 7JJ, UK. Phone: +44 (0)1379 678101 or visit www.motorracinglegends.com.
