Not sure why, but I seem to be having a number of automotive epiphanies lately, as a result of driving my youngest daughter around in my Alfa. The first was last month as we stumbled across the rarity of a Country Squire station wagon—with simulated wood paneling—while on our way to her dance class. The next was just the other day as we motored across town for breakfast.
One of our little family rituals has been for the family to go out for bagels on Saturday mornings. With Mom and big sister away for some reason, my youngest and I seized on the opportunity to take the Giulia Spider across town for our Saturday repast. On our way back from breakfast, as the sun shined on our faces and the wind tossed Abi’s hair around, she looked over to me and innocently asked, “Daddy, why doesn’t your car have a top?” I was momentarily taken aback, “It does sweetie, why would you think it doesn’t have a top?”
