David Hobbs has been selected to receive the “Spirit of Competition” award from the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum at the organization’s annual fundraiser, November 18, at the Simeone Museum in Philadelphia.
Hobbs, who won the SCCA Formula 5000 championship in 1971 and the Trans-Am championship in 1983, enjoyed a 30-year cockpit career driving virtually everything before turning his talents toward the broadcast booth where he’s become a household name because of his colorful commentary on F1 broadcasts for multiple networks.
The event begins at 6 p.m., and will consist of a dinner with open bar, an award presentation by Dr. Frederick Simeone, plus music by the Gin Canaries. Tickets are $150 per person, $275 for a pair of tickets, and $1000 for a table of eight people. For complete information please visit www.simeonemuseum.org
