Working in his still-new medium of acrylic on canvas, Maritimes artist Chenard has craffted this painting, showing Sir Henry Seagrave aboard the 1000-hp Sunbeam that became the first car to crack the 200mph barrier, achieving a new world record speed of 203.79 mph on Florida’s Daytona Beach in March of 1927. It was the first car to go over 200 mph. The painting measures 16 inches by 20 inches, and while the original is available, it is also available as a 16×20 limited edition (of 50) archival Giclee print selling for £95/US$160, plus shipping.
