Sydney Allard was a London garage owner (his business was called Adlards Motors) and a fearless driver who made his mark in British hill climbs before WWII. His specialty was Ford V8 specials, which some regarded as a trifle vulgar. Allard, however, was a pragmatist who once shocked those with finer feelings by incorporating the tail section of a crashed Bugatti in one of his cars. His results, however, spoke for themselves, and he built a dozen replicas for customers.
