Jason Watt on his way to winning the 1996 International Touring Car round at Silverstone in an Alfa Romeo. Not only was Pianta in charge of Alfa’s racing program from 1993-1996, but he often tested the cars himself. Giorgio Pianta started racing in the 1950s, raced and rallied at international levels through the 1970s, and has held important leadership positions in the competition, research and development departments at Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia. He is a Commissioner of the CSAI in Italy, rep to the FIA, and continues as a consultant to the industry. He is, above all, an open and friendly person, and always a great host in Italy.
