Classic Grand Prix Ltd in association with French motorsport promoter, Ingrid Cholot, have announced the launch of The Yankee Series of races for pre-1966 American touring and GT cars running to Appendix K regulations. These distance races will be part of the L’Age d’Or event at Dijon on June 28-29th and the Trophees Historique de Bourgogne on October 11th-12th.
The Yankee Series organizers are examining options to add more dates including potential events in the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal in 2008 and are already planning a full provisional calendar of European events in 2009.
“We recognize that there are many racers out there with these fantastic cars who want to have the chance to race with likeminded people,” says London-based Ingrid Cholot. “We aim to create a paddock where people can come for the weekend, enjoy good times with friends and have a good, serious race. We will provide an experienced event coordination team that can offer a second-to-none service and also plan to add some novel ideas to the weekend to make it truly memorable. It’s going to be great!”
