The Motorsport Safety Fund’s Watkins Lecture at Autosport International is to be given by Jean Todt, President of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Jean had a notable career as a co-driver, before going on to work in motorsport management.
Named after the late, great F1 Medical Officer Professor Sid Watkins, the Fund’s annual Watkins Lecture on motorsport safety issues is usually held in conjunction with the Autosport International Show at the NEC near Birmingham, UK, and this year will take place on January 15, 2016.
Before becoming FIA President, Todt successfully directed teams in the World Rally Championship, the Paris-Dakar Rally and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He next moved on to Formula One, managing Ferrari to 14 World Championship titles (both drivers and manufacturers). The Lecture session will be moderated by the BBC’s James Allen.
