The Tour Auto Rally 2016 will be staged April 18th to 24th along the secondary roads and racing circuits of France. Organized by Peter Auto, the 2016 edition will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Tour de France Automobile retrospective.
The 25th anniversary Tour Auto Rally will offer the 240 participants a new route that will finish for the first time in the Peter Auto era with a nighttime run on well-known rally roads in the countryside above the Cote d’Azur.The 2016 Tour Auto Rally will also honor a selection of cars that have made the Tour a legend, including the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, Jaguar MK II 3.8L, Ligier JS2 and Matra MS 650.
Similar to previous years, the 2016 Tour Auto Optic 2000 will begin on Monday, April 18 by a cars exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. The next day (Tuesday, April 19), competitors will start from the French capital to travel along roads and race on circuits all over France to discover the country’s cultural heritage.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary Peter Auto has added a night run to the program. Thus it won’t be over for the drivers who reach the final stage on Saturday afternoon. After a few hours rest the surviving crews will get back behind the wheel in the early morning and head for the back roads of the Cote d’Azur for an exciting nighttime leg. The finish will bring down the curtain on the 25th annual Tour Auto.
