The Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada has been selected to host the Canadian round of the 2017 Diamond Jubilee Formula Junior World Tour for the Peter Revson Trophy. Encompassing races in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa at famous tracks like Monza, Brands Hatch, Zandvoort and more, the tour stops in Canada this June at Mosport’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, an hour east of Toronto. VARAC is inviting all Formula Junior and other vintage racers to take part on the weekend of June 15-18, for three days of racing with lots of track time and special feature races.
Adding further excitement to the weekend, Formula One cars will be returning to Mosport as the Masters Historic Racing Series will also take part in the 2017 VARAC Vintage Grand Prix. The series fields 1966 through 1985 F1 cars, which will also be running at the Grand Prix du Canada in Montreal the weekend before the VGP.
Also being celebrated is the 50th anniversary of 1967’s “Summer of Love,” as marked by Psychedelic Saturday Supper, where bell-bottom jeans and headbands should be the order of the day. The actual racing will feature multiple grids, including the Classic Grid (for cars built between 1973 and 1995) Monoposto, including Wings and Slicks, an MG and Triumph Challenge, including Simms Cup trophy for MGs and the Group 44 Inc. Trophy for Triumphs. For complete information, please visit www.varac.ca
