A panel discussion featuring some of the biggest names in Formula 5000 history will take place in the paddock at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this Sunday during the weekend’s Rolex Monterey Motorpsorts Reunion. The select panel currently includes Brian Redman, Tony Adamowicz, John Morton and Shadow team owner Don Nichols, who will discuss the heyday of the series and answer audience questions. The discussion will take place Sunday between noon and 1 p.m., hosted by Casey Annis, editor and publisher of Vintage Racecar/Vintage Roadcar.
This year marks the return of Formula 5000 to the Rolex Reunion, and the celebratory event has drawn international drivers from New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, United Kingdom, Canada and across the USA. The F5000 grid will be comprised of as many as 50 cars that contested the series between 1968 and 1976, which should be the largest collection of historic Formula 5000 cars to ever race at once.
