The Vintage Sports Car Club of America has announced the creation of its first official VSCCA Triple Crown, formal recognition for member participation in three special events: the New Jersey Vintage Grand Prix Festival, May 29-31; the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, July 18-19; and the Mt. Equinox Hill Climb near Manchester Vermont, August 22-23.
To be eligible for the Triple Crown, members must compete in these three distinct events, races on both a brand-new, world-class road course, and public roads through Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park (see separate item), as well as the longest consecutively run paved hill climb in the world at the most historic venue on the VSCCA calendar.
The actual award, one of only 50 gold-plated, museum-quality, vitreous, cloisonné enamel grille badges, specially designed by Mark Richards, will be presented to each qualifying racer at the VSCCA AGM in November by club president John Schiffelein. For further information, visit www.vscca.org.
