Billed as the United Kingdom’s answer to Pebble Beach, a display of historic motor cars from around the world will occur within the walls of Windsor Castle in London from September 7-9, 2012 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The inaugural Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance will feature some of the rarest motor cars ever produced with a Bugatti Royale, Ferrari 250 GTO, Blower Bentley and Mercedes-Benz Gullwing expected to attend with other cars anticipated that have never been displayed in Great Britain.
The event will be held in the inner courtyard with the consent of the Queen and will cover more than a hundred years of automotive style and technology, along with rare horse-drawn carriages and classic Royal vehicles. According to Jeremy Jackson Sytner, Creative Director for the concours, “This is a significant new event celebrating the style and glamour of historic automobiles and is a fitting testimonial to the craftsmanship of the UK classic car restoration industry and will be unlike any other event in the world.” The displays will be open to the public on September 8 and 9 with the first day reserved for special guests and will feature a gala dinner in St. George’s Hall.
